Keeping Your Costs low

Hello, My name is Philip E Scott, with a few words about how we keep our costs low, and remain able to pass those savings on to you, our potential client.

Briefly, the currently  established purchasing tactic involves getting 4 or 5 bids on most projects.

Owners do this, in order that they can obtain the lowest price for the highest quality system.

However the practice has the effect of dramatically running up the overhead costs of the firms doing the bidding ..... and of course these costs must be passed on to your firm, the buyer.     Importantly this *includes*   the cost of free engineering and bidding work for *other* clients!

Key points!

If every job that was put out to bid got built, then any given firm, on average,  would have to bid 5 jobs to land one job.

In actual practice however, many jobs or options are only being considered.  But bids are generally requested on these projects as well.

We have seen design build firms  bid 50 jobs.......In order   to land a single project.

Quoting, or bidding engineering and construction projects, involves quite a lot more than say,  getting a quote on pre-manufactured goods,   such as an automobile for instance.

Bidding an engineered system typically involves *substantially engineering the project first!

For a small but highly technical project , that can involve hundreds of engineering hours!

This sales and engineering overhead cost. (for all bids produced, not just for the current project )  is then passed on to the *single client* who eventually signs a contract

This hidden cost of doing business generally increases the project cost by 30 to 50%, as compared to projects we have done,  on a signed letter of intent,  or on a cost plus basis.    The wasted effort is eliminated, saving both our firm and our clients substantially in the process.

How We Operate:

Our projects are arranged the basis of a signed letter of intent, this practice eliminates wasted engineering time.

Our client agrees to purchase engineering, systems and equipment though us according to the terms of the letter of intent, at a price that is either well below the market for such services, or on a very favorable hourly rate basis.

This assures that we do not run up our overhead needlessly, and become less competitive in the process.    It also insures that the client receives the maximum benefit for the expenditure.

Lets talk about  *Your * needs.

Do you have any suggestions or questions regarding our services?

Need a lower cost option on the project you are currently considering?

Need to find new or surplus equipment?   Would you like to list your no longer needed equipment?

Do you need to find qualified technical or engineering talent fast?

Would you like a no or low cost web presence or home page, if we do all the work and updates for  you.?
