In the last 48 years I've designed / built
or managed good sized projects all across
the US. More than a few classified
projects for our aerospace and weapons
industry... and even more in the foods,
petrochemical and semi-conductor
sectors.
I will attempt to make what I put in this
blog relevant in some way to that
experience, useful and entertaining to
those who read this blog.

I've spent more than a few years
on the nations dirt oval flat tracks,
That has brought focus to my work
You might find some of those insights
useful in your own career.
Dirt oval racing was my specialty. I hung it up
for the last time, tears in my eyes at age 68. Along
with my hot shoe made by the world famous Ken
Maely (who in his later years ran a high speed
dirt oval practice track in Southern Calif).

There is a bit of applied physics in getting a good start
off the line... called.. (shhhh, keep this a secret)
the rollinng start. For which pore ol Philsie here was
famous but no one knew why. See if you can guess
why and what the physics of that tactic are.
I will get into the details a bit later, along with how
I learned to slide sideways under power with my feet
on the foot pegs...in one afternoon.
